Established in 2001 as a Charity by the NSW Rural Doctors Network.
Primary role is to support vulnerable rural and remote communities that struggle to attract and retain local health, hospital and aged care services.
RARMS is a rural health workforce agency, primary health network and local hospital emergency care, community health service, telehealth and aged care support service rolled into one.
The difference is that RARMS staff live and work in rural and remote communities. We don't work on the problem from the comfort of the city, we work in and with the communities we serve.
We operate 10 community health hubs located in some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Australia serving moire than 22,000 patients, 26 percent of whom are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
