OUR STAFF

Rural and Remote Medical Services Ltd is not only the largest provider of general practice and primary care services to residents of rural and remote NSW communities, it is also a major employer in rural and remote towns.

RARMS not only creates employment in general practice, but by virtue of our towns having local GPs and VMOs, RARMS supports the sustainability of local pharmacies, allied health providers, aged care homes and other health related organisations.

By having a rural GP in town, organisations like schools, hospitals, aged care homes and emergency services are able to attract people to live and work in the community.

Studies have shown that for every one dollar invested locally in primary health returns $10 in new economic activity and jobs.

RARMS also supports the training and development of our staff to help them develop their careers, playing a key role in the education and training of medical students and graduates, nursing and health students and graduates and supporting locals to access training and vocational education.

Through our work, we not only support the health and well-being of our communities, we support other sectors of the local economy to grow and attract investment.  Without local rural GPs towns would lose access to a local hospital staffed by a doctor who can provide emergency care, health professionals and aged and disability care services, and government would bear significant increases in costs to attract essential services like teachers, police, local government engineers and other professionals to support the community.

RARMS IS PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF THE FOLLOWING ORGANISATIONS

NSW Rural Doctors Network.png

Rural and Remote Medical Services Ltd was formed by the NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) to address the chronic shortage of doctors in rural and remote NSW.  Using the 'Easy Entry, Gracious Exit' model developed by RDN, RARMS has grown to support ten of NSW's most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities to attract and retain GPs over the last 20 years.  Now an independent charity, RARMS acknowledges the work and dedication of RDN and its officers and staff in helping to establish Australia's most successful rural and remote medical workforce solution.

Our Clinics are independently accredited by external medical experts so our communities can be confident in our care.
